Hello! Im a qualified secondary teacher and for various reasons ive been out of teaching for a while. I now work as a TA in a primary - and, well, i love it! Ive covered some teacher absence but would love to become a proper primary teacher. Does anyone have any advice? I have 2 post-graduate degrees so know lots of theory about learning etc but have little primary curriculum knowledge and no practical skills such as planning for a primary or marking. How would I get these skills and knowledge? I am very happy to study but not sure it would benefit me to go back and do a primary bEd, but a MA would be too research and theory based when i really need to know practical and specific knowledge! I hope this makes sense. How do teachers learn subject content say if they move year groups or key stage after a number of years? Are there any course books for subject content that would help - I honestly have no idea where to start!
I have considered doing some relevant modules through OU if anyone has any familiarity with this id love some advice. Many thanks!
