Teach First / PGCE for Primary ?

Hello Everyone,
After extensive googling, I feel a bit lost and would love some advice. I have been a nursery nurse working with preschoolers for seven years, and have completed an Early Childhood degree. I feel quite strongly that I would like to undertake teacher training, ideally to work in the EYFS at a state school.
I have been recommended Teach First, but not sure about being stuck in front of a class from day one (unless it was an EYFS class). But the PGCE is so expensive it would be a really tough year with no income (I have two little children / mortgage).
Has anyone got any advice? Is one considered 'better' in terms of quality of teaching?
Thanks !

Have you considered Schools Direct? They can be paid or unpaid.

@KatherineOfGaunt I haven’t looked at that one thanks. Is it less ‘thrown in at the deep end’?

You work alongside the class teacher in school and gradually build up the amount of teaching you do. So kind of a mixture of PGCE and Teach First - being with the same class all year (apart from the month or so you have to do in a different school) and being in school from the beginning, but also having a year of training, the opportunity to do PGCE-level stuff and having a class teacher for support all year.
