Being a teacher does not make me a good teacher to my child!

I’m a KS1 and EYFS teacher (although I think I’d be better in lower KS2!) and yet I’m a terrible teacher to my 5 year old.

I can’t help but be fussy over letter formation and push her to do a little more. Her nature is very much I won’t do more than I have to and she is easily distracted. I’m pretty good at making the learning relevant and accessible and give praise, but I am a bit critical especially in handwriting sessions.

Is anyone else like this?!

My child has done sweet F.A in remote learning - right since March. I'm a LKS2 teacher mostly, but have taught year 1 - 6. I know what she needs to do, I know how to make OTHER children do it - her, nope.

Outright refusal. I have to con her into doing anything.

Having said that, she seems to have got a bit interested in joining her handwriting, which might help letter formation I hope.

@RuleWithAWoodenFoot mine really pushes against it. She really is one of my toughest pupils!
