PT to FT

Just after some advice really. I work PT in a fantastic SEN school. I love my job, love the students, the other staff . The days fly by. Opportunity has come up for a FT Head of dept position, so more money and responsibility. But the role needs to be FT . I am so torn, I dont know whether or not to keep my nice PT 3 day a week role which very much keeps me pigeonholed firmly as a class teacher but is a nice balance . Or do I go for this role. I have been PT since DD was born and she is now 9, DS is 3 and will start school in sept, on one hand if would be lovely to have the time with him picking up from school like I did with DD but on the other hand I'm bloody bored of doing the school run 😂 and I am never particularly productive on my days off although I do appreciate the free time I have at home to just be. But I'm getting frustrated at being constantly overtaken career wise by other staff members who do FT and starting to think to the future as DC get older the extra money will definitely come in handy and if I put the hours in now will I reap the rewards later ? I have always fancied working up to SLT level and am now thinking why not. School has a reasonable culture no ridiculous planning on marking expectations but I'm fully aware that ft will take a lot more planning and organisation.

I do however have a wonderfully supportive DH who works long hours but pulls his weight fully re household chores and good reliable childcare for DC. Anyone been in a similar situation and made a decision either way?
