How are you holding up?

If we get piled up on, I'll just stop posting, but anyway:
How are you doing?
I'm kind of coping, with a few bouts of tears in the evenings - mostly related to how exposed I feel, and how that might impact on family members (one in particular) if I should get the virus and inadvertently pass it on.
But I'm still working, still keeping calm, etc.
Thanks to all school staff working in these difficult times.

I cried today. Came down with a horrible chest infection yesterday evening. Everything hurts and I just need to be in bed. I got cross with my children this morning and begged DH to take them out. They were hyper and annoying and I needed quiet. House a mess.

Feel slightly more in control now but pissed off with how many bugs I catch from my supposedly covid safe classroom. One week to go.

I should add, no covid symptoms here, but even without that huge worry I'm sick of being infected with colds and tummy bugs nearly every week. I love my class but children are germ factories.

They are really tired now, keep bumping heads, very emotional, can't get them to focus on anything.

To all of you crawling towards the end of term (as I am), well done and keep going!
Not long now, thank goodness.
I said I was done in my last post - I'm so past it now.... I'm still going, still basically running from one place to another. I can't wait for it to be Saturday, with no multiple alarms plus Alexa saying 'get out of bed and go to work' as that is all that wakes me now. Oh, and I've helped my elderly DM move as well, so lots of visits happening after work.
Cheers folks, even if I'm patting myself (and you) on the back. We've earnt it! Wine

Crawling to the end of term sounds about right. Due to staff shortages I'm lugging lunch tables and chairs about on my own in place of the two people who normally do it.

4 weeks of this and I can't always lift my left arm above shoulder height and my right foot is sporting a sexy, elastic bandage. This isn't because I'm a fragile thing; there's only two of us that could manage what I'm doing in the time. It's doing it day after day that's wearing me out. The Head knows - in case anyone was wondering.

Plus we have daily exhortations to be careful and not betray our sacred duty as education professionals by catching Covid. The clear implication is that we will only catch it if we do something "wrong". The MAT is determined that no more bubbles will close or need to be contacted over the holidays. If only we'd known before! The MAT's determination is all we need to combat covid! Hopefully it will shield us against the tea parties, baby showers and sleepovers that the kids keep gaily telling us about.

If I sound glum it's because I am. Saturday I'm going to lay in bed until I can't bear it.

I can't even bring myself to comment on the latest news as I may well get myself in a bit of a state.
Except to say, 24 hours' notice.....
