Moving schools pregnant

Hi all

How long do you need to work at a school to qualify for maternity pay? I'm currently looking to start a new job in January and have found out I'm pregnant.

Aside from the poor show that this is and the immense guilt I would feel to my new school, would I qualify for maternity pay if I moved schools? I'm currently with an academy and would be moving to another academy in the same region.

Thanks!

I think it's about 18months typically.

You would likely only qualify for maternity allowance, not amp or any enhanced arrangement.

You’ll qualify for SMP which is 6 weeks at 90% and then £150 a week after that.

Suggests otherwise.

Op won't have been employed by the same employer for 26 weeks by the time she's 25 weeks pregnant (15 weeks before due date).

She will already be pregnant by the time she starts with the new employer... so maternity allowance may apply.

If it is an academy in the same trust check their Maternity policy to see if entitlements transfer across
