None teaching SLT?

I’ve seen a few academies with “non-teaching” SLT who are deputies or assistant head teachers.

What are people’s views on this? Do they earn the same as standard AHT/DHT or do they earn less due to not actually having a teaching qualification.

If you have them in your school does it cause an issue or resentment amongst other teaching staff curious to know!?

Btw, I’m not one but I know of a few and it’s interesting as they are actually horrible individuals that seem very insecure in their role!!

It’s shocking. Everyone pays (through their taxes) for qualified teachers.

It is shocking. I agree.

But people aren't paying for qualified teachers when for the last 10 years they've been voting for governments who have openly aimed to fragment the education system and employ unqualified staff.

Unfortunately people are leaving the profession and there's not enough teachers joining or returning.

@LolaSmiles

Agree. It will happen more often and they’re probably a lot cheaper to employ, thus pushing out expensive, more suitably qualified staff.
