Pregnant teacher - wfh will they start my mat leave at 36 weeks

I’m pregnant and working from home at the minute, can they automatically start my mat leave at 36 weeks if school is shut? What if I was planning to be in and am happy to continue working from home?
Also does this situation change if my school does reopen? I would not be happy to physically go but would be happy to continue working from home (which I think will still be needed to set work for students who are also unable to be in or in the case of phased returns)

Thanks

I think you need to talk to your union, but I think they can only force you to start maternity early if you are ill with something pregnancy related after 36 weeks, and as you’re pregnant you’re in the vulnerable group and should still be at home I think.

Unless you are I'll due to the pregnancy they can't force you, that would be discrimination. If someone was WFH due to diabetes or asthma, they wouldn't have a cut off for them and their pay. So they couldn't force you to start mat leave early, if that makes sense?
