Any insight on school return? My head just sent an email with some info in, but she also states we'll all be doing more days very soon as more pupils come in?
Government has said it will give schools notice so have they already ?

the expectation for many parents will be that normal teaching will resume.

They need to really get their heads around the fact it very well may not for the next year for some cohorts. The illness itself for many leaves people needing time of work for at least 2 weeks or more. On top of normal flu viruses this winter, staffing is going to be difficult to manage. I wouldn't be surprised at a second or third lockdown phase at some point.

Maybe I'm pessimistic but I can't see how anything is going to be a great deal different in September unless testing is easy and regular and antibody tests are reliable and easily accessible, but even then it's going to be a challenge. SD will be impossible in most schools. And enforcing it will actually impact learning too.

Yes it's a worry for parents and children's learning but I do remind myself that most of us didn't have the quality of education children have now. Most children will pick up from where they were and over time will be at the expected level. It's most chalked for the gcse and Alevel lot.

I note that University’s are taking certain subjects back earlier than others and some won't be back till January apparently.

Just to say that @wheresmymojo was right after all...

Thanks @ImInAStateOfMind!

I kind of accept that come the next thing I post about that I know no-one else will believe me either Grin

But yeah...COBRA is a bit...leaky right now.

I'm positive that if it was a situation related to national defence it would be a whole different story but the virus has no ears so people are being a bit...relaxed.

I'm not surprised it's leaky and agree that things would be different if it were a defence issue. I'd love to have a natter with you! Grin
