I was on UPS3 plus TLR1a so the payout is absolutely huge.

I’m guessing I have absolutely no way of challenging this? Sad

Unfortunately pay scales are no longer transferable however you don't have to accept the job!

Argh! You really must ask the pay before accepting a job and then negotiate if it's not to your liking. Drives me mad that education is so unprofessional about this (not you, the schools). I know that's no help now. If you're serious, go and see an employment lawyer and check the legals on this - you should have asked but they are probably at fault for not confirming the terms and conditions more quickly, too. It will cost you a few hundred quid but £1000 month (net?) is a lot. Unfortunately you are not in a great position to negotiate if you have actually started work, but if you don't start till Easter it would be v inconvenient for them at least. If you don't ask, you certainly won't get.

Ask your HR/business manager for a copy of the job advert. It should be in your HR file or in the general recruitment paperwork
