Dream job but I want part time!

I've seen an advert for my dream job in a lovely school (just my combination of lower school and p16 subjects which doesn't always happen!) but it's full time. I'm currently .6 and with two preschoolers this works for us.

Is it worth contacting them to see if they would consider part time? Would your school make it work for the right candidate?! I could probably go up to .8....

Our school would much rather get a good part time teacher than none at all and have a lot of part timers. We've had several vacancies where there have either been no candidates, only 1 candidate who wasn't great, or several candidates all of whom drop out the day before interview.

Tea her recruitment is hard, so definitely put yourself forward and ask

I did just that and went to visit the school and asked the question. Happily they said yes. Mine was slightly more flexible I wanted 0.8 and was happy to do over 5 days as I wanted to be able to do some drop offs and pick ups for my own children.

I have the same dilemma!!!! I'm going to apply and see what happens!

I'd say to go for it, there seem to be less and less applicants for teaching jobs and more and more applicants for TA jobs nowadays. I wonder why ?!
