World book day teacher costumes?

Any ideas for a very easy, very cheap book day costume for me? Curve ball is that it is parents evening the same day so costume will need to be easily removed (no make up/crazy hair!)

May steal the Miss Hardbroom idea - although I don't feel it, I am 56 and have done Gangsta Granny already, despite my utter lack of respect for Walliams as a writer

If you've gone grey, don some glasses and be Miss Cackle instead.

Hair in bunches and bright stripy socks for pippi long stocking or black dress and bright socks for Winnie the witch

Captain underpants - red Cape, huge y-fronts, lots of da,da,daaa posing

Oooh. Shamelessly following this thread. I start my new job next week and I've no idea if they go in for WBD. However my DCs school are doing it for the first time this year, so I'm also watching for ideas for them (considering sending them in in their Creeper onesies and a Minecraft annual).

At my last school, last year, I went as Pippi Longstocking. Pipe cleaners are excellent to get your plaits to bend.

My secondary school does it. Just year sevens and teachers get to dress up. I don’t really see the point.

I am being Pippi Longstocking - got a cheap pinafore off Ebay that I hope will be able to be repurposed into other costumes too... pigtails, drawn on freckles.

Was Opal Plumstead last year - sash (off ebay, really cheap), straw hat, old fashioned clothes. (once you've got a white blouse and black skirt these can be the basis of many a costume).

I really don't miss primary school themed dress up days. Especially as our school gave minimal notice.

CrackedHeels2 · 20/02/2020 22:15

We do this at my secondary school, bit have to decorate our classroom doors instead of ourselves! Theme this year is villains - any ideas?

BecauseReasons, am not grey but am the proud owner of a Gangsta Granny wig. Good idea though! Basically I'll go as an old witch - any child who makes a comment about me not coming in character will be turned to stone!
