Interview tomorrow! Nervous!

NC for this.

I'm a SEN TA in a specialist school. I love it. I'm good at it. A job has come up in a mainstream primary, supporting a child 1:1. I submitted an application before Christmas and they called me in for a chat about the role as it's a complex one. Told me that they prefer to tell prospective applicants about it and then invite them to apply if they are still interested. When I told them that I was very interested, they reacted really positively.

My formal interview is tomorrow with a panel of staff including the Head and Sendco. I have to read a story of my own choosing to a group of KS1 children and then answer questions from the interview panel.

I'm not worried about the interaction with the children. That's my element for me. I'm nervous about the interview.
I think I'm fairly prepared. I've brushed up on my KS1 curriculum, already have an understanding of the child's needs and how to manage them. I've got ideas about how I could support the child in their leaning whilst managing their needs. I'm trained in Team Teach and de-escalation techniques, my most recent safeguarding training was last month and I have lots of experience of working in partnership with parents and other professionals.

But still. The nerves. What else might they ask me please?

Thanks.

No idea about questions but wishing you the best of luck 🤞

Thank you!! I've been rereading things like de-escalation techniques tonight just to brush up on it. I know what to do in the moment, but put me on the spot and ask me what I'd do, and I'll forget!

Also trying to prep for the inevitable 'what are your weaknesses' question.
Thinking of answering that I sometimes feel like I'm an imposter and that I'm winging it, so I need to work on my self-confidence (as illustrated by this thread!!).

How did it go?

I was asked to say one word that my colleagues would describe me. I said noisy, they all laughed, I think the found the honesty refreshing. . I got the job x

They offered it to me on the spot!

I was asked something along the lines of what I'm like to work with in the classroom. I answered that I was much like I was right there and then, smiley, jolly and happy.

Spoke to my current Head today and some staff members incliding my bloody gorgeous class team. They're all so sorry that I'm leaving but completely understand why and were full of congratulations for me. So it's been a lovely, bittersweet day at work today. I'm so sad to be leaving, and still buzzing about getting this new one.
