NC for this.
I'm a SEN TA in a specialist school. I love it. I'm good at it. A job has come up in a mainstream primary, supporting a child 1:1. I submitted an application before Christmas and they called me in for a chat about the role as it's a complex one. Told me that they prefer to tell prospective applicants about it and then invite them to apply if they are still interested. When I told them that I was very interested, they reacted really positively.
My formal interview is tomorrow with a panel of staff including the Head and Sendco. I have to read a story of my own choosing to a group of KS1 children and then answer questions from the interview panel.
I'm not worried about the interaction with the children. That's my element for me. I'm nervous about the interview.
I think I'm fairly prepared. I've brushed up on my KS1 curriculum, already have an understanding of the child's needs and how to manage them. I've got ideas about how I could support the child in their leaning whilst managing their needs. I'm trained in Team Teach and de-escalation techniques, my most recent safeguarding training was last month and I have lots of experience of working in partnership with parents and other professionals.
But still. The nerves. What else might they ask me please?
Thanks.
