But what books are good to read? I’m experienced, secondary HOD, but I quite like books about teaching! Grin

We had a half day of training by one of Paul Dix’s minions. It was the biggest load of shite ever... what I couldn’t get over was the constant begging us to take to social media to evangelise about Pivotal!!

I feel like I should read about education... I don’t though. I did read a brilliant book about leaving teaching which takes you through loads of exercises to consider next steps. It made me realise there’s more good things about it than bad so I’ve stayed!

I didnt manage to find any of the above in the library, but I did find Stephen Brookfield's Becoming a Critically Reflective Teacher, which is interesting so far despite being aimed more at tertiary education teachers. The chapters on learning in David Epstein's Range are also very good imo.

I loved 'Some kids I taught and what they taught me' by Kate Clanchy - memoir type book written by an English teacher/ poet. I'm a trainee science teacher and found it inspirational and moving and have recommended to English teacher friends who also loved it.
