Staff Wellbeing

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions about how to promote and improve staff wellbeing in school? Anyone doing anything for this. I know it's a big Ofsted focus at the moment and thinking of setting something up in my school.

My experience of evidence based anything in schools, or even the application of rational thought processes, or even consideration of the feelings and convenience of students, teachers and parents, is that they hardly exist.

@borntobequiet true. I wonder if it's just the same sort of people who get into management roles? Or something else that causes that.

I am wary of "enforced fun" things, and targeted well-being gimmicks strike me as being in the same vein.
Treating staff well should be an integral part of the workplace. None of us in my school has ever filled in a survey as to what we would like to see, but I would say it is a very happy place to work. We're a lively and sociable bunch and there are lots of inpromptu and planned nights out - pub evenings, quizzes, curry nights, dog walks etc.. One group have just gone away for the Christmas markets in Europe. Christmas and Summer staff events have varied from a barn dance to a race night, to a dinner/dance to a BBQ, to a Caribbean night, to a Bingo night and fish & chips. No one has to attend, of course, but take-up is nonetheless very high.
Every week is Cake Friday, and SLT give us biscuits often. Tea & coffee (and cookies) are brought round during parents evenings.
There is no official short-term planning format - plans should be for us to work from. HT doesn't mind how they look though. We are rated "Good" by Ofsted and that's fine. Wouldn't want to work in an Outstanding school.
Bad behaviour is always dealt with immediately by SLT and any kids kicking off will be removed from the classroom to calm down so others can work.
But more important than anything else is the HT's willingness to allow staff time off if they need it. This might be for a child's sports' day/nativity, but I was also given a morning to meet my older child at the airport after a gap year travelling. When my father was seriously ill, I was told to go to be with him and not come back until I felt able. No questions asked. No wages were docked for me, but we are given opportunities for TOIL if necessary. Some have been given time off for special holidays/celebrations (unpaid).
The pay-back for the school is that we are hugely appreciative and will always work the extra mile. Hardly anyone ever leaves.
