Teaching Shakespeare

I'm a teacher abroad in a European country and will be organising a trip to London next year.

We'll be doing a unit on Shakespeare during the year, and I'm thinking about the possibility of doing a workshop at The Globe during our visit.

The students will be aged 12, equivalent of year 8 when we go over. Has anyone ever done a workshop with The Globe and can comment ?

I have. As a third year drama student at one of the London drama schools we took part in one. Ours was probably different to the sort of thing European kids would take part in as we were all uni age.

But it was still pretty basic. We were invited to stand on the stage and shown how the acoustics work. We all had a chance to perform a line or two.

There was probably more but those are the parts I remember.
