SATs paper The Lost Queen

Y6 were doing some revision papers this week and did an old 2016 paper with an excerpt from a story called The Lost Queen (characters Maria and Oliver attend a garden party at a house which once belonged to Maria's family).
Afterwards several children said they would like to know more about the story and I would love to be able to buy a copy to read as a class - the author isn't referenced anywhere on the paper and I wondered if anyone happened to know who the author is please?

Sorry I don't, but how lovely is that. Children are not put off by it being a sats paper and want to find out more

You could always write a collaborative class ending - nice that they enjoyed it!

That is a lovely idea of yours Rolling.

It's nice they enjoyed it - among a hell of a lot of really tedious shit to wade through (Earthships and Garnet and Citronella I am looking at you) there have been some nice texts used in previous years. I always liked Dear Norman I think it was where the lad goes off to live in his treehouse - it just seemed to capture and amuse a lot of the kids and came through in their responses to the paper (I used to mark KS2 English and Reading).

Pip Davenport can still stick his Helter Skelter where the sun doesn't shine though. I bear a grudge.
