Primary teachers - please tell me your fave websites

When I started teaching, I had a blackboard, could borrow an OHP or a large TV on a trolley with a VCR, and had two stand-alone desktop PCs in the classroom that used 3.5" disks.

Technology has moved on a long way in the last twenty years, and I use Twinkl, Phonics Play etc but I know there will be other sites that you would recommend that I simply haven't heard of. Please share! Thank you.

Kids these days will never get that utter feeling that you were an epic winner when the TV trolley was wheeled into class, the shutter parts ceremoniously opened out, including the little bit that made a shield at the top of the screen and you sat there in rapture watching the numbers count down at the start of the invariably badly recorded school TV broadcast on VHS tape.

They're missing out!

This is a great thread. I will be using www.worksheetworks.com, thank you. I use www.activityvillage.co.uk as well as twinkl.

In the wrong lazy hands it leads to teaching that looks to the average person like differentiation but isn’t actually matched to children’s needs at all.

Any of these web resources could easily be used lazily. They can also be brilliant time savers and add variety if they're not just blindly used without thought.

Classroom secrets, mathsbot and my mini maths. All great time savers.

Classroom secrets (used wisely!) - ie milk the maths don't overload, mathsframe for free games.

Twinkl has loads of errors, as do so many others, so check first!

My personal favourites are lastminute.com and majestic

Mathaids is good for quick, occasional worksheets.

Wasgoingmadinthecountry, last minute is for holidays not resources!

Spelling Frame (spelling practice)

Twinkl but I only use the editable versions and customise them myself, ditto TES resources and Hamilton Trust. I don't like Grammasaurus because they are all PDF files and can't be edited to suit the needs of the children.
