When I started teaching, I had a blackboard, could borrow an OHP or a large TV on a trolley with a VCR, and had two stand-alone desktop PCs in the classroom that used 3.5" disks.

Technology has moved on a long way in the last twenty years, and I use Twinkl, Phonics Play etc but I know there will be other sites that you would recommend that I simply haven't heard of. Please share! Thank you.

I loved Mr A, Mr C and Mr D Present for the songs. www.mracdpresent.com

Classroom Secrets is v good for differentiated sheets. classroomsecrets.co.uk

WorksheetWorks for FREE maths mazes & maths worksheets (just watch for American spellings) www.worksheetworks.com

Twinkl is quite good

HettieBettie · 17/02/2019 21:07

Classroom secrets can be dangerous in the wrong hands

OhioOhioOhio · 17/02/2019 21:08

I see you know about Twinkl. Topmarks is quite good too.

GoodStuffAnnie · 17/02/2019 21:08

Explorify. Science.

HexagonalBattenburg · 17/02/2019 21:12

Kids these days will never get that utter feeling that you were an epic winner when the TV trolley was wheeled into class, the shutter parts ceremoniously opened out, including the little bit that made a shield at the top of the screen and you sat there in rapture watching the numbers count down at the start of the invariably badly recorded school TV broadcast on VHS tape.

They're missing out!

1sttimedd · 17/02/2019 21:16

Mathsbot - invaluable! Great for early work, pre assessments

ElizabethMainwaring · 17/02/2019 21:17

HettieBettie, what do you mean? I'm intrigued!

1sttimedd · 17/02/2019 21:18

Oh, and Literacy Shed!

Brokenfurnitureandroses · 17/02/2019 22:00

This is a great thread. I will be using www.worksheetworks.com, thank you. I use www.activityvillage.co.uk as well as twinkl.

HettieBettie · 17/02/2019 22:09

In the wrong lazy hands it leads to teaching that looks to the average person like differentiation but isn’t actually matched to children’s needs at all.

ElizabethMainwaring · 17/02/2019 22:11

Thank you Hettie.

BringOnTheScience · 17/02/2019 22:30

Any of these web resources could easily be used lazily. They can also be brilliant time savers and add variety if they're not just blindly used without thought.

petalpower · 18/02/2019 08:36

Classroom secrets, mathsbot and my mini maths. All great time savers.

wasgoingmadinthecountry · 18/02/2019 09:36

Classroom secrets (used wisely!) - ie milk the maths don't overload, mathsframe for free games.

Twinkl has loads of errors, as do so many others, so check first!

My personal favourites are lastminute.com and majestic Grin

Gremlin78 · 18/02/2019 22:40

Mathaids is good for quick, occasional worksheets.

ElizabethMainwaring · 19/02/2019 07:23

Wasgoingmadinthecountry, last minute is for holidays not resources!

ElizabethMainwaring · 19/02/2019 07:24

Oh I get it. Sorry!

4point2fleet · 21/02/2019 08:37

My regulars are:

Math Antics (maths videos)
URBrainy (grammar worksheets)
Maths Frame (maths games)
Prodigy (maths game the kids play as a treat)
YouTube (grammar videos)
Spelling Frame (spelling practice)

BrizzleMint · 24/02/2019 12:55

Twinkl but I only use the editable versions and customise them myself, ditto TES resources and Hamilton Trust. I don't like Grammasaurus because they are all PDF files and can't be edited to suit the needs of the children.

ElizabethMainwaring · 24/02/2019 14:04

I really rate Plan Bee.
