Christmas play. Christmas fayre. Shopping afternoon by PTA. Target tracker updates. Assessment week. Class Christmas party. Buying presents for children (not my idea). Staff meal out.
All of it is lovely really (apart from target tracker!) But it's exhausting... wake me up in 3 weeks please!

You've missed "absolutely bonkersly manic children" and "children who struggle with changes from routine and structure really really having a tough time of it" off your checklist of tinsel-embellished hell.
Also that point where you realise you're humming the Christmas play songs to yourself walking around Tesco and feel a total total wally.

I'm not in school at the moment (there's no fucking supply work) but it's hilarious doing the school run for my own kids - all the staff looking progressively more and more knackered apart from the one staff member who just gets more and more bouncy as Christmas approaches to the point she's in danger of bouncing through the ceiling before the end of term! It amuses me every year - it's like a tinsel-topped Tigger.

Am I correct that secondary schools don't do anything really for Christmas? FrOMG a parent's perspective there is so much going on at my children's infant and junior schools, ie all of the above, that I'm clinging to the hope that one day Autumn 2 will be slightly less manic (at home, anyway!)

Wait, I thought she just worked at our school... Please don't tell me there are more of them out there Shock

That’s one of the best typos ever!!

I used to be a primary music teacher. I feel your pain. DS’s teacher (y2) is the most positive person on the planet and her smile is slipping a little!

Staff who wear christmas ties in November and get all the children hyped up because it's "nearly" a month until Christmas.

Great typo indeed!
