Do your children attend the school you teach at?

Considering whether to move DC to the school I’m teaching at. It’s a lovely school, just wondered if there were any pros or cons I hadn’t thought about yet!

I wish teachers wouldn’t, to be honest. I understand why but I think it’s unfair on both parties.

continually how would it work in small or fairly remote communities then? My first teaching job was in Minehead, there was no viable alternative.

yes, but all the teachers that have children do as well as we don't have a lot of choice for schools. Only one teacher has his sons at different school and another teacher who is currently covering. The rest of the staff have their children in the school. All four of my children ranging from Year 1 to Year 10 have at least two classmates with parents that work in the school, so they are not the odd ones out.
The only problem I had is that I had to make it clear that if other parents were not being informed about every nitty gritty detail, then I didn't need to know either.

DS is in nursery at my school. It was part of the deal (I teach abroad) because nursery places for his age group are tricky to come by in our area, especially for the times I need. I'm on a salary sacrifice scheme, which means his fees are covered. We effectively still pay, but not as much.
I'm not sure I'd want him in my school once he's old enough. We've only got three classes and I don't feel like there's enough English-language input.
But we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
I like having him close by, dropping off and collecting is easy and he has been in several staff meetings with me, when they have gone on for longer than expected.

My two DDs are at school with me and so far it’s all been positive. They are still little, though (both in infants). It’s a private school, so we get a nice staff discount on the fees. It’s a very small school, ~70 pupils, so we can’t be anonymous or avoid seeing each other, but I think the girls accept that. DD1 mostly just gives me a grin and maybe a wave when she sees me. DD2, who is only three and has only been at school a few weeks, is getting better but still sometimes runs over for a cuddle! All their friends seem pretty chilled out about it, too!

Oh! Regarding the long days, they come in with me first thing, but I’m fortunate enough to have my mum to pick them up most days.

Mine were both in High School while I was teaching there, no problems.
