I'm applying for my PGDE and just wondering if there are any books/websites that teachers swear by for learning theories and teaching methods etc? I'd love to do some research before starting the course so I can be as prepared as possible!

TIA

I suggest you join the Scottish Primary Teachers Facebook site. You'll get lots of support and advice on there. Good luck with your course.

Honestly, if you're applying this year, you'd be better off trying to prepare for your interview just now.

Read up on current issues (ask in the school you're volunteering in - Adverse Childhood Experiences, The Nurturing Classroom, Closing The Attainment Gap, use of standarised testing, might be things they mention.)

I remember reading
Learning to Teach In The Primary School
and Successful Teaching Placement In Scotland (Primary and Early Years) and finding them useful.

Which courses are you applying for?
