Residential Trip Involvement for LSA

I have recently become a (part time) LSA and have been asked if I would like to go the annual Y6 residential trip in October. I'm really happy to go - know it will be incredibly full-on but great fun, too - but my husband is furious that I will be going as a full time member of staff but will only be paid for my usual 22 hours...… Should I be asking for extra pay? Should I ask about time off in lieu? Please advise!

I'm a LSA/TA. When I did a residential trip I was able to claim from 8 to 4, excluding my contracted hours. Speak to your line manager. You can't be expected to work for free.

Whenever out part time staff go on residentials they get time off in lieu - but only up to the equivalent of full time. So a part timer who goes away for a week who is normally paid for 22 hours gets 10.5 hours off (32.5 hours is classed as full time at our place) at a mutually agreed time.
