Studying for MA whilst teaching?

Has anyone managed to do an MA whilst teaching and also having family commitments? If so, how did you manage it?

I could apply for a full time course (2 years) but would probably have to give up a job I love, but it would be at my dream place of study- not very family friendly hours either but easier to get to. No guarantee of job.
Part time course means I could keep my job but takes 4 years and long commute. Less impact on the family.

I need to start applying but am really torn as to what to do! Any advice welcome.

I'm doing an MA whilst teaching and I've got 3 young kids. It's a course for teachers and it's over three years. I'm really enjoying it and feel like it's already improved my practice. The hard bit is when assignments are due but I just have to be organised and start early!

I did it, I only have one child though who was 7 when I started. I did it through online distance learning and it was hard but I loved it. I managed it by having pretty much no downtime for 2 years, and a very supportive husband!

I did it in three and a half years whilst working full time. I only did it during work time, some weekends and holidays. No evenings. It was before kids though but still would've been possible with supportive family as long as children were not small babies.

I did it in 3 years. I picked a university and course designed to fit around teaching. I enjoyed it (though some voices in the staffroom thought it was a mad decision).

Thanks everyone- great to know it is do-able! I think maybe part time might be the most sensible.
