snow day, school may be closed due to playground being 'unsafe' as covered in snow.
That went on FB at about 7 am, by 7:30 the playground had been cleared by parents in 4x4 with serious shovels

The key stage one christmas nativity, the cow had actual ear tags 😂, oh and school was never closed to snow as head teacher was a farmers wife, her husband always cleared the snow......with his tractor!

The dc's nursery was on a farm. At certain times of year you'd come in and find some pegs festooned with a brace of pheasants.

Rural primary in Wales. We had a little girl come by pony at least once a week! It was so sweet! (Mother riding beside her too!)

Not a teacher, but surely it has to be in spring when half the class are missing and the other half are falling asleep (lambing season, or near the end when they're taking days off to cut the silage.

I went to a rural school, but unfortunately my dad was always far too organised to need my help for either of these events. My children now go to the same school and have the same complaint about me. They never get days off when half their classmates do.

The kids bring you a rabbit they skinned yesterday and hid under a pile of cut grass...

Scotland, half the school is off for the Highland show.

I went to a tiny school (Welsh marches) with 7 in my class and 12 in class 1. We had no idea that was unusual until we went to high school. (Again rural - 450 pupils but we thought it was enormous).

We were allowed to bring roller skates in the summer and sledges in the winter. Weekly swimming was a 45 minute coach trip away.

Sons’ school equally rural and they used to cone off where the deer had left droppings on the field overnight.

Instead of bringing flowers as an end-of-term gift for the teacher, sprout stalks are given!

When watching Of Mice and Men for old style GCSE English, one lad starts sighing and says, 'Don't you just love the old fashioned farm equipment,' in the harvesting scenes.

As a pupil (a long time ago), biology teacher wants a rabbit to dissect so he asks one of the lads to shoot one before the next lesson.
