What’s the most inconvenient time to resign (TA)?

I’ve name changed as mumsnet has made me paranoid about this sort of thing- and I’m about to be petty! I’m a TA and pissed off with HR and SLT, I’m intending to leave but after recent chicanery want to do so in the most inconvenient way possible. I’m thinking the first day back in September? Mid August? I have to give a months notice. If I start a job in the summer hols I prob won’t hand in my notice until end of July so I will get paid over the summer anyway.
Anyone willing to aid me in being a pain in the arse? (Also we have very good supply available so I will be immune to ‘what about the kids’ - they’ll be fine).

JUst see it as putting yourself first. If a job comes up in the holidays well, they can recruit in Sept.
Personally, I’d smile and smile and look like mad for another job but I’d not give them the satisfaction of being able to give me a shit reference.

IME, as someone who recently quit a TA job, even if you are considerate about your notice period, management are going to be pissed off if you're going to be hard to replace. I actually offered to stay til they found a replacement but head said it was ok. However both she and SENCO ignored me for the rest of my notice period. The deputy head kindly sorted a card from the kids at the last minute as he realised they had done nothing.

I totally understand the desire to screw your employer over if you've been treated badly by them. Yeah, yeah, all the posters saying it's petty etc are right, but sometimes you need to get it out of your system. I still regret not sending a glitter bomb to DH's former employer after he was bullied out of his job and that was the nicest option I considered. Just make sure you're not cutting your nose off to spite your face! Could you resign halfway through autumn term? Although that would probably affect the kids more.
