Intrusive comments about pregnancy

I'm a secondary school teacher and almost 22 weeks pregnant. I told my form and classes last week, and since then I've had at least five kids (who I don't teach and sometimes don't even know) randomly call out "Miss, you pregnant?!" when I'm just going about my business. No introduction, greeting or anything. It feels very intrusive, especially as the tone is often almost accusatory. I know I'm probably being sensitive, but I am finding it upsetting. Any tips on the best way of dealing with it??

Some kids don't realise how rude it is. Others just want to watch you squirm. In either case, a good sense of humour usually takes care of it and I used to tell the kids I was fat/ having a chocolate baby/ growing a tree or whatever else just came to my mind all the time.

It bothers me more that they still ask me whether I'm pregnant daily now that I have a toddler! The baby fat never went away...

Not a teacher, but I would stop them and say: “ I assume you meant to say, hello Mrs X, you are looking well. Can I ask are you pregnant?”
