I'm happy in my current school where I work .5 and I've always said before my DC start school I'd never take on more. Both are under 3. However, and this is all hypothetical atm, I've applied for a job in a very nice school down the road. I currently have a 30m-over an hour journey depending on traffic and if I'm doing drop off to childminder.
The new post would be full time or at a push, .8. It's a great opportunity but I'm filled with anxiety about how I'd cope with the increased workload. On the other hand, I'm much nearer DC and their future school. I'm also worried about rocking the boat with my current employers and then either not getting an interview or getting the job and then not accepting. I'm so conflicted as I've not been actively looking to leave and I have a good work-life balance.
Any advice?

It is a difficult one. I gave up one part time job for another part time job because of the distance (from nearly 30 miles on the motorway to 10 miles through the town) but I would not work more than .7 and that is with older children. The amount of time I should be doing planning etc is huge and I feel I never have enough time.
