Not sure what you're asking? It seems like a fairly straightforward question, although 'make a poster' is lame.

Oh hello, thank you for replying. I was posting and reposting everywhere so didn't really give details, sorry. We are not in the UK so presentation will be in second language in any case but essentially, I was hoping a PSHRE, social studies, politics teacher or art teacher would give advice on the content/level of detail required/what you would be expecting from year 9 pupils doing a presentation on that topic. I find it far from straight forward Blush but we have cobbled together the following with help from some lovely art historians and a brexit arms person.

Intro: people saying there is no European culture, just a western culture, eg US and Europe are the same, are forgetting that European countries share a long history together. Furthermore Asian art, aboriginal art, African art and European art can be distinguished between.
Para1: 2007 EU survey results - culture and art deemed important, art is thought of first when the word Culture was given in a word association question, many say they have visited a gallery or museum in the last year. Majority think compared with other continents, that European countries have a lot in common culture- wise.
Para 2: why do we have Art in common? Because art transcends boundaries - artists travelled (reasons etc), patronage and so movements spread across Europe eg impressionism
Para 3: Examples of Dürer, Holbein, six degrees of separation, artists mentoring/teaching/influencing each other
Para 4: By the other token where there appears to he unique pieces of art eg modern they are still identifiable as being part of that movement in the same way that countries have their own uniqueness but still make up a community
Para 5: European art project commissioned 2 years ago with submissions from 30 countries show cross cultural influence both in theme eg nature and style eg pop art from Latvia so there is commonality
Para 6: Globalisation concerns re dilution of culture forget that we have had external influences already eg japonism, and the impressionists embracing African art. Dilution of a common culture, bound in history going back to its Greek/Roman roots, for that to be watered down so so quickly after centuries of external influences... potentially globalisation will simply enrich and further spread European art internationally.
Conclusion: Europeans have created, appreciated and each others' art throughout history. Art knows no bounds.

15 mins not incl taking questions
Poster will have pie chart/graphs of the Shared values questionnaire stats, a map of Europe with various examples of impressionist art across the board, some pics of mentor-mentees, some pics of art from different continents and some examples of modern art which might individually be very different but create a whole, like europe itself...

What is missing: anti EU rhetoric, islamophobic future predictions, historical context in detail eg info on moors, turks, Algerians, Indians contribution to culture, problem of identifying commonality across eastern Europe, isolated countries, refugee art, diaspora

Not given an argument that says Nope, a European culture is a myth because not hermetic, already diluted etc because the teacher is very pro Europe and wants it presented from that context without counter arguments ( not just her, sometimes in essays they are meant to take one view and stick to it as a piece of rhetoric as opposed to a balanced argument).

Anyway, that is what we have so far. Thoughts?
