Do any other teachers feel like they need to lie down in a darkened room at the end of the day at the moment? Hmm

yes

BringOnTheScience · 29/11/2017 18:46

.... while stuffing your face with chocolate and rocking back & forth.

Oh yes. This long autumn term is a killer.

user071017 · 29/11/2017 19:32

Just now? Hmm every damn day. I've resigned Grin

Balfe · 29/11/2017 20:19

I was THIS close to zipping myself into my quiet tent and leaving my little darlings to it this afternoon.

The mere thought of the Nativity play makes me want to rock in a corner with a bottle of tequila.

6 weeks into a 9 week term

TheDrsDocMartens · 29/11/2017 20:37

I got in the tent today Blush just seemed to be particularly chaotic today

noblegiraffe · 29/11/2017 21:06

Come on snow day. There's supposed to be a really cold spell coming up. Maybe if we all chant it?

Snow day! Snow day! Snow day! SNOW DAY!

Balfe · 29/11/2017 21:14

Our heating has broken twice and no joy.

Is there a snow dance we can all do maybe?

MsJaneAusten · 29/11/2017 21:31

Seems worth a go...

Snow day, snow day, snow DAY, SNOW DAY!!!!!

ILoveMyMonkey · 29/11/2017 21:36

Snow, snow, snow, snow.

We have an "Christmas shopping day" each before the end of term. Head is covering!! Mine isn't until the last week, but still Grin

millmoo · 29/11/2017 21:42

SNOW SNOW SNOW !!
Please please please ... I’d do anything for a day off 😬😬😬😬

TheFallenMadonna · 29/11/2017 21:50

I don't want snow because i have a 60 mile round trip, and I would have to leave before the Head made a decision...

noblegiraffe · 29/11/2017 21:51

That's ok, Fallen, the snow day can happen on your Christmas shopping day then you won't be put out Wink

TheFallenMadonna · 29/11/2017 21:52

Oh, that would be lovely!!

TheFallenMadonna · 29/11/2017 21:53

Seriously though, no snow days for me for, er, 8 years, I think... Do I live in a temperate microclimate?

noblegiraffe · 29/11/2017 21:58

Must be near me, we seem to be snow-resistant too. Staff do get all misty-eyed remembering the Great Day The Boiler Broke.
The boiler breaking now would make no difference because it costs too much money to switch on anyway.

TheFallenMadonna · 29/11/2017 22:00

Actually, we did have a day off last year when there was a sewage issue.

noblegiraffe · 29/11/2017 22:02

My head would have probably called that a 'Bring Your Wellies To Work Day'.

MsAwesomeDragon · 29/11/2017 22:14

We have an official snow dance that the teachers perform in the staff room whenever there is the slightest chance of snow. It has not, in 12 years, ever produced an actual snow day. We have twice had snow bad enough that my dd's school was closed, so she came to school with me and spent the day colouring in at the back of my classroom or building snowmen outside my classroom window.

I am exhausted. This term is always bad, but this year it seems worse than normal. This year seems to have had more "extra" stuff than usual.

TheFallenMadonna · 29/11/2017 22:18

We get quite a lot of new students this time of year (AP) and it is hard work.

leccybill · 30/11/2017 09:31

Seriously feel like like we've been in November for years. Why doesn't August go this slow?

High school here - horrid, corporate academy, and the kids are getting viler by the day. And there's 2 parents evenings in December - joy.

TheFallenMadonna · 30/11/2017 17:20

It did in fact snow today Shock

Only a tiny amount and not laying obvs, but still!

Balfe · 30/11/2017 19:10

Weather warnings for the east of the country, teachers of MN!

Our boiler broke last week, the "school is closed tomorrow" letters were all printed and ready to hand out then..... The engineer arrived and fixed the bloody thing in ten minutes. I think he expected gratitude !!! Grin
