Ignoring the voice that says 'this probably isn't a good idea'.

I've just got back from a school trip with the Year 12s to a pretty 'raw' part of Asia. After a week of working hard with various community activities, we had last "day fun session", of skateboarding. My sensible voice said, "You are 48 and have never really been on a skateboard - abort activity immediately". The teacher voice in me said "Show the kids you are open to new activities/ experiences etc etc"
I'm now nursing a sprained elbow and can't even brush my teeth. Is anyone else as stupid as me? I need to know I'm not alone.

Yeah I'm with you. I can ski well, but the little voice in my head spoke when I took 48 teenagers snowboarding! Not pretty ConfusedBlush

I remember going on the high ropes course on year 6 residential. I was absolutely petrified, but a colleague 20 years older than me had gone straight across at the highest level and I was determined to not be beaten by her. So I edged my way across muttering "I've done childbirth - this will never be as bad as that and it will be over quicker." Trouble was, I was shaking soooo much that the ropes were moving so much, a child who was using a different part of the equipment was thrown off... (I did it though so all was good).
