Hi, I am barely functioning! Started new school full time in September after several years part time. I also have 3 dd's to look after and am more than ready for half term, in fact feel so totally shattered have just opened some naughty school night wine Wine.
I have one more day with children as thankfully (or maybe not having just read the agenda) have inset on Friday!!

I've caved and brought home two sets of books to mark tonight as I can't face the thought of them looking at me next week. I'm currently half way through the first set and off to the shop in a mo to get wine...

Piggy Grin.

When dealing with a very needy class (secondary) - Miss I've forgot my book, Miss can I have a pen, Miss I need a ruler, Miss have you got a sharpener - as I smile sweetly and oblige, I am saying in my head 'would you like me to wipe your arse as well'?
Maybe one tired day I might say it Blush.

In Scotland you go back after summer much earlier don’t you? Doesn’t that make this a hugely long term?

I'm exhausted too. This half term seems to have gone on for years!!!! All my classes are tired and grouchy. Every single week I've had something "extra" to do, mostly that has nothing to do with actually teaching the children. Inset, meetings, more inset, an observation, writing UCAS references (I know they're important but it was an extra I had to fit in to limited time), parents evening, it's just never ending.

I'm hoping next half term is going to be easier.

We do, and yes, it is :( Stinkingly long. I think this one is nine weeks.

I never mind this term as much as January/February though.

I'm not a teacher but in York they don't break up until next Friday.
And don't break up for Christmas until the 22nd

How can you all be so tired, it's only 7 weeks since your last holiday. Bloody teachers.

(I'm currently powered by chocolate and fell asleep when I got in from school).

I've done eight before (a long time ago) and that was more than enough for me...

Another week to go here. Break up on 27th.
Yes, i’m totally wiped out and I only work part time! How you full timers do it, I don’t know.

Yep, we finish on the 27th here too.
I'll take that as it's one less week in the manic half term that is the run up to Christmas.

Just finished for half term and I am bloody shattered! I took on a TLR two weeks into term and although I am enjoying it it's been a lot to get my head around.

Y7 are as needy as ever and I had them last lesson today!!

We've had a lot of 'extra' things this half term - appraisal stuff, observations, work scrutiny etc and some staffing issues in the department which hasn't helped.

On top of that, DH has been working away for most of the last two weeks of term so I have been on my own with 3 year old DS.

Thankfully, we have two weeks off now but then don't finish until 22nd for Xmas.
