Best tips to stop me catching every cold going?

What are the most effective ways to boost my immune system or prevent picking up colds and illnesses from the children who love to share their germs? I've already got a cold and would love to not catch any more!

I already wash my hands as much as possible. Is hand sanitizer effective? Do I need to wrap myself in cling film or wear gloves? Any tips welcome!

I'm going to boots later with a list of vitamins! And to look at sambucol. Also dettol is now on my shopping list, I don't think door handles etc get cleaned as much as they should be. I need to try harder with the varied colourful diet too, I get stuck in a sandwich or tinned soup rut at lunch times and prob should put a bit of effort into more varied food... my excuse is time. I'm a member of a gym which is on my way home so I can exercise daily (or at least a few times a week) as long as I set off home early enough to fit it in. I might start doing the daily mile with the children too. I'm a proper wimp about needles, I'm not sure about the flu jab.

Giraffes that's interesting about the link with a traumatic childhood... I'm going to read more about that.

I love the bread experiment! Truly disgusting, kids love it Grin definitely doing that one.

Elephant I'm not sure that would go down very well Grin but yes tempting sometimes! Can I just teach over the spring/summer terms please!

Chickpea - I'm going to try that recipe as it can't hurt and sounds like quite a nice start to the day. Thanks. And getting enough sleep... yeah that would help, if I can stop thinking about the many things on my to do list! Good luck to everyone avoiding the germs!

Oh and maisypops and unfucking... why had I not thought about glue sticks, pens etc?? Def going to give each table their own and keep some just for my own use, I usually grab whatever is nearest but obviously that means germs. I think keeping the kids at a distance will be tricky, they are little and want to be close. Very close sometimes lol

Ahhh, if you are in primary I guess you can't keep them at arms length. Thankfully teenagers don't like to get so close (maybe that's just to me though?)

It's only 6th form who are allowed to borrow anything of mine.

Agree with hand washing, lots of fresh air in class and early nights. Especially on a Thursday. I went to bed at 7.30pm last Thursday and it was amazing. Felt energised on Friday instead of exhausted.
