ive been for my gcses english and maths assessments and im not ready for my gcses, so will have to start on the basic maths and english course and work my way up to them in about a year (or 2!!)

my plan was to do my gcses this year along with volunteering one day a week in a primary school plus i work part time in a cafe. and then once ive passed my gcses, start on level 3 TA course next year and quit my job....

NOW...is this the correct order to do?...

start on my basic maths and english course to work up to my gcses, volunteer anyway and still work in the cafe

im not getting any younger as i'm 43 this year!

please fire any questions

thanks

Definitely get yourself to GCSE standard in English and Maths as a priority. Nothing wrong with volunteering long term if you can afford to do so, but I would earn as much as you can while studying. When you have your GCSEs, you could volunteer while undertaking further study.

I'm a bit out of touch with routes into university, but Access courses were designed for people like you. Also, look for free careers advice - your local college would be a good place to start if you don't know how to obtain free guidance.

Good luck :-)

Yes I def want to do my GCSEs as I'm struggling on my year 7 maths homework's asi usually leave that to their dad.

On the level 3 TA course, it's a CACHE course so I will have to have a placement.

I'll have a look on the access courses to see if any.

Many thanks for.your advice
