To make us feel better about going back to school (if you haven't already!)

I'm looking forward to...
Seeing the kids! Genuinely miss them and am worried about a fair few.
Routine and structure
Constant supply of tea and coffee which doesn't involve me boiling the kettle

Not a fan of early starts but I do like the feel of coming home after a busy day. I like the 'newness of Autumn term and getting to grips with new classes and meet new year 7. We had good GCSE results and have already had a nice e mail off the head so happy to walk in with head held high. Can't wait to have gossipy catch ups with friends too Grin

I'm not a teacher but love reading how many of you genuinely care about and like the kids 😊 thank you!!

Doomhutch · 29/08/2017 23:32

My new class (all reports say they are everything from 'nice' to 'lush').

My old class being briefly interested in me before they move on Sad

Whole-class Guided Reading!

Starting the year so much more prepared because I'm not an NQT anymore!

Having my own form
Having a tidy classroom while it lasts
Routine
Actually having some idea of what I'm doing (I am on Teach First so last year was in at the deep end)
Having more confidence compared to this time last year
Being a better teacherSmile

Seeing classes I am getting again. Teaching a different subject to usual. Colleagues.

CanIBuffalo · 30/08/2017 01:08

Colleagues
Not having to think about home/my DCs issues every moment of the day
Doing something I feel I'm actually good at (see above)

Haskell · 30/08/2017 01:09

Having colleagues around, because over summer, many days I'm the only one in! (Apart from assorted builders and caretaking staff.)
Canteen being open again (hate making packed lunches over summer)

Blush

Oh dear-I really am struggling to be positive about going back!

lozengeoflove · 03/09/2017 09:29

Jury service, starting tomorrow Grin

The new- ness of everything...people, classroom, stationary. Seeing my teacher friends, getting to know what the children in my class have been up to, not being the newbie any more. Routine, eating and spending less. Frosty mornings and a strong purpose!

MaisyPops · 03/09/2017 21:52

Routine again.
Seeing my y11s - i love taking classes for 2 years.
Staffroom laughs

The inevitable half term countdowns that make me smile but also bring home that im almost wishing lifr away in 7 week intervals
