I tried teaching assistant work placement in year 4 but it didn't work cos it was too noisy and I'm deaf. (plus had a few home problems which is now all sorted).

Thinking of retrying it again but only to do reception class only as the course is only from reception class OR to become a nursery nurse

Help please

Thanks

Actually- another thought- can you sign? Have you ever thought about working as an LSA in a school for the deaf or a unit for HI children? It's always great for HI kids to have good deaf role models. Specialist LSAs usually do a combination of 1-1, group work and mainstream work.

Contact CHESS and ask if they can put you in touch with some deaf teachers. There used to be an email group for deaf mainstream teachers probably a Facebook group now (I am out of touch.) CHESS stands for Consortium of Higher Education Support Services for Deaf Students.
