Why are they so active?

I've had to turn off notifications from all the eager beavers posting pictures of their beautifully set up classrooms and being competitive about how many days they have spent in school since the start of the holidays

I can't even get in my room until the 30th as the builders are in school and the constant posts are making me feel guilty and woefully underprepared

Why can't these people turn off???

I always wonder about their colleagues. I would be a bit Hmm if a colleague was posting daily updates or constantly asking stupid questions.

SuperPug · 13/08/2017 15:26

I'm part of two which are American based. Not quite sure why I haven't left the groups. Honestly, it's nauseating. A million different wall displays, loads of unnecessary stuff in the classroom and then other articles about how much it costs them.
However, I've found my subject Facebook groups really helpful. Lots of good links that I'll be using. Some eye openers but positive overall.

Jesus, the tea bag and poem - too much. Why?!?

LockedOutOfMN · 13/08/2017 15:33

SuperPug
the tea bag and poem

This sounds good! You'll have to explain...

SuperPug · 13/08/2017 15:38

When I read it back it does sound weird. Grin
I'm not primary but I heard of that through another teacher friend and it must be a popular thing if it is on the twinkl group. Where did all of this come from?? There's enough pressure and work to do (like most jobs) without the additional tat.

eirrar · 13/08/2017 15:50

EvilTwins...

I am so with you on that! I have offered to share some of my resources with one teacher and have had about 20 requests for the same resources. Not one person has offered something back in return. Angry

As for the Russian classroom - looks great. But did anyone else notice that the desks are in threes with bags neatly stored on either end. Where does the child in the middle put their bag??

FaceOnOff · 13/08/2017 16:28

They're in twos, not threes?

eirrar · 13/08/2017 16:30

Ah yes, so they are. In my dodgery eyesight, I saw the child in the row behind as being the middle child!

Starlight2345 · 13/08/2017 18:19

As the parent of a child with ADHD.. Anything you put on the wall is a distraction.. I would far rather you teachers enjoy there break and build up reserves for the next year.

emochild · 18/08/2017 19:02

And I bring you jitter glitter!

I have to say if someone gave my child a tub of glitter and told them to sprinkle it where they liked, I'd be telling the teacher where to shove it Grin

Emochild, naff does not even begin to describe that 😳

RandomDent · 18/08/2017 23:35

Usborne books MLM bots are infiltrating groups too. :(

Littlewhistle · 19/08/2017 14:54

The Jitter Glitter is beyond twee and naff Hmm

Thankfully, on our return to school this week, our HT said that she wants uncluttered classrooms and minimal motivational/aspirational quotes etc on wall - amen to that!

RMC123 · 25/08/2017 19:18

Realise I am a little late to this party but so glad I am not the only one who feels this way!
Had to unfollow a whole bunch of groups which I had joined for practical ideas and all I got was a news feed of OTT reading corners and 'look how lovely my labels are'!
I have worked in the holidays but on my planning and paper work not pretty shiny things.
And some of the money people are spending is ridiculous. After 20 years of teaching I have learnt that I can't keep buying for school at that level!
