Where do you look for jobs?

Which websites do you use to look for teaching jobs?

I'd only ever look on tes.

Apparently not all jobs are advertised there any more though, so they're missing out on people like me who don't bother trawling though other places. It's too expensive to advertise in tes now apparently Hmm

PicInAttic · 24/01/2017 20:15

Most schools in our LA - yes, we still have one!- only advertise on the LA's own website.

Sleeperandthespindle · 24/01/2017 20:31

The two local LEA (or weird company that's taken it over) websites for me.

rollonthesummer · 24/01/2017 20:34

We have a local website for our LEA. I have never looked at jobs on the TES.

redcaryellowcar · 24/01/2017 20:46

Our local school advertise on eteach? A lot of schools have vacancies sections on their websites?

Ponderingprivately · 25/01/2017 02:58

When I have been jobhunting I have looked at TES, local LEA websites and individual websites for independent schools. I also keep in touch with friends who teach my subject locally to see if they know of any jobs coming up

tinytemper66 · 25/01/2017 21:07

eteach

OliviaBonas · 25/01/2017 21:14

Here!

Iamcheeseman · 25/01/2017 21:31

Council website every week just to see what's happening.
Sometimes check eteach and tes too

PotteringAlong · 25/01/2017 21:31

It's £1200 to advertise in the TES! It cannot be sustainable, surely?

70ontheinside · 26/01/2017 19:08

Local LEA website!
Also check school websites directly.

leccybill · 26/01/2017 19:12

I'm in a Facebook group for my subject and there's often vacancies posted on there.

WelliesAndPyjamas · 27/01/2017 07:30

LEA website for teachers
TES + LEA website for Head Teachers
LEA website + local press + facebook job sites for support staff.

It is pointless spending money we don't have on TES teacher adverts, it isn't an area many people move to from the rest of the UK.

WelliesAndPyjamas · 27/01/2017 07:32

The cost of nationwide advertising must surely be contributing to the teacher recruitment crisis. How on earth can teachers be targetted if schools can't afford to make them aware of their vacancies beyond their count borders?

Geraldthegiraffe · 27/01/2017 07:34

I honestly think yoire restricting yourself.if you just look at tes. Our local ones often aren't advertised there at all.

I would look at tes, local govt, and eteach.

pinkrocker · 04/02/2017 14:15

Thanks potteringalong have just signed up for that one!

When I was looking for jobs a couple of years ago, I put my CV on Reed and have been inundated with opportunities ever since.
