Not sure I really understand primary anymore. Am I right in thinking that if a child is ahead you are not allowed to teach them more advanced stuff than the rest of the class?

Poison - you are not meant to go into the next year's curriculum. The idea is that you encourage 'depth of understanding' within that year group's curriculum.

Bumblecat - I am losing sleep over it all at the moment. I have two children who only dropped a couple of marks on their maths and don't think I have enough evidence to put them at 'greater depth'.
