Just that really, it's like without the adrenaline from being in school I almost forget how to get into the swing of it all.
I've been grappling with procrastination all day.
Inset tomorrow anyone else in same boat?
I seem to only see really organised teachers on the teaching fb threads I follow, who were planning and resourcing even on Christmasbloodyday!

Procrastination!!! Now here is someone who talks my language!!! I am that person who will be up to the wee hours tonight doing what I KNEW I would get done in the holidays!!!

I find it quite alarming what a go slow I'm on, usually my planning takes a couple of hours I'm managing to convince myself I must have dementia (I'm 31!) because of the sheer wading through treacleness of it :)

Can I make you feel better? Currently work with the most enthusiastic organised teacher - to a point where im not needed and god im bored!!!
No last min hitches or stuff to find.
A good teacher should be able to put a lesson in place ad hock - thinking on their feet and get the out comes they need.

Hehe! I have never been (despite my efforts) one of those extremely organised people.
I think schools need both types but sometimes it's really annoying not being able to get started like an internal battle that I lose at.

No work done either - I have about 8 hours of marking to do before tomorrow because I've got a To Do list for inset. So far today I have deep cleaned the kitchen, done a load of ironing...basically all the things I never do. Procrastinator!
No idea what I've actually done since New year. I certainly haven't seen 6, 7 or 8am ....ok not 9am either.
Actually looking forward to going back. Want to hear what my tutor group has been up to and get stuck in to some new work.

I should have gone into school really to get things printed off, but I've been in 3 times already this holiday and I can't be arsed to drive all the way again to be faced with a cold school and no milk... I'll go in early tomorrow and beat the printer queue

We are trialling teaching subjects in blocks rather than a slot a week so only have to do Science planning for next week, which was my BEd specialism so shouldn't take too long!

I'm glad I'm not the only one!
I have managed to get my curriculum newsletter done (has taken me all day, usually through necessity only takes 1 PPA)
still got to plan Maths, literacy, guided reading and phonics.
Also need to give my TA's a to do list for tomorrow don't know where to get them to start (forgotten everything!)

No kids in tomorrow-so that's still a holiday!!! And for once I'm not taking the training!!!! Yeah- pass me the pinot grigio!!

I do the same every single holiday. I used to feel really guilty and stare at the work for hours each day. For the last year or so I've come to accept that I just won't do it until the last minute and that I won't get it all done. I've done the important tasks (lots of resource making etc.) that I have to share with my department tomorrow. I've marked my exam classes but the 4 ks3 groups that I was meant to do haven't been done. Oops! But... It was the holidays! I have screwed myself over as I have many late night ahead trying to clear the massive marking backlog now but worth it I think. Having said I accept this is my way I can NEVER sleep the night before the first day of term. I think it's a combination of guilt and self inflicted stress.

No inset for me tomorrow, full teaching day but I have 2 frees Tuesday morning to look forward to.

There was really no point in my worrying about getting so little done over the holidays.
I need to be in the swing of it to see clearly what needs doing first and which systems are must urgently in need of putting in place.
I dont regret having a rest at all.
There's always infinite work to do regardless of whether I work all holiday or not! I wonder if I have a bad or a sane attitude?
