Itching to hand in notice. (again)
Do teachers actually get given TA jobs? Sad I know they talk about it a lot...

Teachers do get given TA jobs. Some are really good in the role, others find the transfer more difficult. But it is a badly paid and insecure job.

I'm a LSA level 3 for half my hours; a HLTA for the other half.

Yes, it is a lot BUT I take on some of the additional stuff through choice.

I'm a teacher who became a TA. I was a good teacher but I didn't want to deal with all the crap that goes with it. I wish people/SLTs/schools would not assume that teachers who become TAs are poor teachers. I did it for my work life balance (I hate that expression).

I love being a TA. It's all the best bits of working in a school without the daily onslaught that teachers have to face. Yes, the pay is crap though. And I know TAs who are on zero contract hours too.

Thanks all.
Not really worrying about pay or job security. I just need some peace of mind.
On reflection I would probably need to be completely out of it as I would probably feel too bitter that even as a good teacher I'd been forced out.
