Job interview help

Hi everyone. Got a teaching job interview in a sixth form this week but feel very unprepared for it and anxious about what kind of questions I am likely to be asked, primarily because I have never taught at that level. I taught for many years at levels 4 and above in my discipline but, after redundancy, decided I needed a broader range of teaching experience. I have a PGCE but it's one that all HE lecturers take (LTHE) so decided to do QTLS via the conversion route, which costs me a small fortune. Most employers are not interested because I don't have QTS and have only ever taught adults. Have finally got an interview but am now panicking. I also have to do a 15 min 'mini-teach' at A2 students. Any practical tips appreciated. Many thanks

Good luck with the interview.

What is your micro-teach about? What is your specialist subject? Finally, what subjects are the A2 students?

I am not much help as I teach in Scotland. But when asked about increasing the % of A passes I would not recommend telling the head teacher he has his priorities wrong and should be focusing on supporting pupils as individuals to do their best (surprisingly I didn't get a job offer at my most reacent interview)

Thanks purple and elt. I had the interview last week actually and it went well. They loved the mini-teach though said I lectured rather than taught (hardly surprising since I am a HE lecturer). They seemed keen but still waiting to hear. Thanks again.
