Should I have signed a contract?

I started as an unqualified teacher 2 weeks ago (my QTS is coming through in the summer) I will be continuing with the school in set to do my NQT year but I haven't signed or seen a contract, is this right?
I did fill out a county council application form but that's all.
Would it make me look suspicious of the school if I ask?
Thank you

Definitely chase it up. It won't make you look suspicious of the school, it is an entirely reasonable thing to want!

If you want a bullshit reason, then claim your landlord wants to see it or something.

I started in September and didn't get a contract until late January. I'm know I'm not alone. Some people in the neighbouring borough didn't get their contract for a year!

You should, but it's not unusual for schools to be rubbish about them. Definitely chase it up though.

Im a Business Manager in a primary school and our HR is done by the LA. It often takes three months for the contracts to come through. Just check that you get paid and then you know they have your info.

Oh okay, that's okay then, I was starting to worry that they were pulling the wool over my eyes, Im going from unqualified teacher from now until July to an NQT in September and I was just curious as to whether I would be getting paid over the summer holidays.
Thanks,
Avocados :)
