On the back of yet another teacher bashing thread. Let's share the lovely things we do every day which other people don't know about and most of us would never bother to tell anyone, because we just see it as part of the job.

Tuesday - I was able to take 15 year 7s to perform in a festival in a local theatre. It started straight after school and finished about 6.30. Parents were supposed to arrange for their DC to be picked up after the event. Two were unable to do so, so I drove them home, meaning that I didn't see my own DC that evening. I didn't want the two yr 7s to miss out.

I spotted a girl was self-harming and no one knew. I reported it and she is now getting some much-needed help.

She doesn't know it was me, I don't even teach her. But I was worried about her anyway.

You took my DD on her first residential trip. She was very anxious before she went and you looked after her wonderfully. (You did get Wine ).

You wrote my DD the most wonderful reference, she has now been offered a sports scholarship. You also picked my youngest DS for his first school sporting event, the team won. He was beyond excited. You all made my eldest DS feel amazing at parents evening, we were so proud of him. Thank you.

Every day with my class is amazing. They have physical and sensory impairments, and every day they surprise me. I love seeing them learn and develop, even when it is teeny tiny steps of progress.

Today I had parents evening where I was able to share these achievements with their parents. I love that feeling.

And on Wednesday this week I have arranged an awards ceremony as all of my class have achieved a swimming certificate, which is something their parents never thought they would do.
