lost my mojo.

I've been teaching for 7 years, 5 in a sixth form college. I used to enjoy the job (well since being at the sixth form college anyway, although I can't say I've ever LOVED it) but recently feel totally uninspired, demotivated and fed up... bored of all the marking, bored of all the stress, the paperwork, bored of not having any time for hobbies or exercise because I work constantly, and yet feeling that all my lessons are dull and unimaginative because all my time is spent marking and doing paperwork.
I went for a promotion thinking I needed a new challenge, but I didn't get it - I wasn't surprised. Maybe I'm just struggling because it's my first year since maternity leave and I'm finding it hard to adjust to teaching full time AND being a mummy.
Anyone got any tips for how I can get myself out of this rut? At the moment I don't even want to be a teacher anymore.

What do you teach? Think of one, one-off fun activity that you can do with each class, and let the kids show you their enthusiasm. That will reignite your mojo. :)

This time of year is often difficult to be enthusiastic with pressures of exams looming, coursework and other concerns...but it is also a moment to appreciate that what your doing is FOR THE GOOD of the students, as they prepare for next step try to appreciate the difference you are making in students lives. Alternatively...20 weeks til the summer!!

I'm like this at the moment. It is hard to see the job satisfaction when on the exams treadmill like hetty says.
