How to apply for non-teaching jobs after deadlines?

I want to apply for a non-teaching job. After 11 years, I've had enough.
My school is in special measures, and we are facing a restructure (4th one in as many years).

Given that we have passed the Easter deadline, what are my chances of being released early? Has anyone done this? If I can't be, it only leaves me a small window (May-Aug) to seek, apply for and interview for jobs. I don't know how much longer I can carry on for.

Outside of teaching that is a long window to apply for jobs. Do you know what you want to do? Good luck.

I want to go into Marketing/PR/Communications. Part of my role in school involved this for a while and i really enjoyed it.

I would hate to see suitable vacancies and know that I couldn't even apply due to the deadline constraints, although I know why they are in place.

Can you survive financially in an entry level PR job? South east here and I'd say the salaries are around £14k.

The burgandy book states that the resignation date for leaving at the end of the Easter term is 28th February- you havent missed the deadline.

I work part time 0.6 at present and will go back to full time out of teaching to make up some of the shortfall, but under no illusions about a large pay cut. Just want my sanity back really.

I'm not quite sure I'm ready to hand in my notice in the next two days, but intend to be gone before the next academic year.

Leaving on the summer gives you 6 weeks paid in the summer to find a new job, potentially even having an overlap of being paid for both.
