If you were applying for a school administrator role would you mention if you had done teacher training?

I want to apply for a school admin post but am uncertain whether to mention that I have done teacher training. It was ten yrs ago now and for personal reasons I never got round to doing my NQT year. Would you mention it? Worried they would think I'm just trying to get into a school to get into teaching. Thanks

I would mention it, but phrased in such a way as to explain you have an understanding of the pressures teachers are under. You could also expressly state that you have no wish to teach!

On any teaching applications I've ever filled in (standard county council application form) you are asked to account for all periods of time since leaving school - safeguarding. If you don't put your teacher training down you'll have a big gap to explain away.

Yes mention it absolutely. The training made you appreciate all that teachers do, that from this training you knew you wanted to work in schools, but to contribute to school-life in a different capacity as an administrator. You can facilitate the learning by supporting staff and as a parent (if you are one) you appreciate the importance of great support staff in schools.
