Had my PGDE interview yesterday and think I failed it?

That's it really, I was first in, was nervous and just feel I didn't answer the questions properly, I waffled, missed off loads of stuff I've done, loads of experiences I've had working in school etc. I went on about how realistic I am about the workload, how hard teaching is but on the plus side I was quite passionate about how I want yo be a teacher.

I'm so down feel it was my one shot and I blew it. Suppose there's always next year Hmm

It's UWS in Scotland not through GTTR, they said fairly soon, what does that mean?!

My horrible interview was at Moray House...I went to Stirling instead btw, I should have put that in my original post, otherwise it's not that reassuring is it? Lol

Good luck sweetkitty. I am an NQT in England and whilst it is hard work I love teaching.

Hi I applied for the PGDE for primary in UWS (Hamilton campus) and for Glasgow and haven't even had an interview for either.

I applied for Strathclyde for PGDE secondary and have had my interview and been accepted so I'm surprised at not hearing from the primary.

I wonder if there are a huge amount of applicants. I'd rather do primary so now I'm worried.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Sweet Kitty. Smile

The pressures are not less in Scotland they are just different. I work 2 days a week, 15 hour contract and average 40 hours a week. Still not on top of workload either.

Well I did fail, unsuccessful on an email from UCAS.

They said they don't give feedback so I've got to assume it was the interview as I applied on a Monday had an interview date on the Thursday so if it was lack of experience/degree etc I wouldn't have got an interview.

I do know they had a huge number of applicants and I know of at least 6 people who didn't get in, my friend applied to Strathclyde, Glasgow and UWS, had an interview at Strathclyde and a no, straight no from Glasgow and nothing from UWS. I've also heard they often don't admit you on the first go but will on the second try Hmm

Am gutted and am thinking about what else to do now.
