Hi

Hope I'm in the right area to ask! I have to come up with a teaching and learning or behaviour tool which I can use in the classroom and share with my department . I've had a rubbish start to the academic year and really need to come up with something useful and exciting . So far we've had a student reflective tool and a behaviour tool website shared in the department. Would be really grateful to hear about things that work in your classroom!

What subject are you?

How about a self-evaluation sheet, linked to the success criteria for a particular piece of work, which students complete to assess themselves before handing work in?

Or a display whereby students who achieve X, Y or Z (whatever) get their photographs on a cool wall display - eg as Olympian runners reaching the end of a race, or as graduates jumping in the air in their robes or whatever?

Hi I'm secondary English I like the idea of this achievement chart probably using pictures to represent rather than actual photos thanks!

No prob. My lot tend to like seeing their own photographs though, tbh.

A self evaluation colour coded effort sticker to stick in their books with different levels off effort that they tick at the end of the lesson? You can refer to during the lesson with students who are off task ie tell them they are currently on amber and need to get to green? This might only work with the younger kids. 2 stars and a wish stickers?

I have a mark sheet which I put on whiteboard. It as target grades on, and and grades for all the work I've marked and peer assessed marks. They soon shut up when that goes up. Forms the start of most lessons for me..

Or is it SPS. Silence, pair, share.

10 minutes working in silence, 5 minutes discussing what they have done in pairs. Discuss in groups what they are going to do for rest of lesson
