Return to work information

After a week of being signed off, I have emailed for an update on my classes so I can go back and carry on from where they are up to.
No-one is replying to my emails. My boss is also ignoring my emails about my reasons for being off and my request for a reduced timetable.
Is this normal? I've never been off sick before so I don't know if I should expect an update, some kind of return to work information, or any kind of communication?!

Have you spoken to anyone face to face about a reduced timetable?

Are you secondary or primary? Who has been covering your classes? One person or several?

Who have you emailed for the info?

At my school if anyone is off they have a return to work interview with the HT. That would be the place to bring up a reduced timetable.

I'm secondary and I haven't spoke to anyone in person, as I haven't been back into work yet. I've emailed my line manager 3 times.
I find it odd if I'm supposed to go Ito work Monday and teach 5 groups but I don't know what they've done...?

Oh and one person has covered my lessons all week, I emailed and asked him, but no reply from him either.
Our HT isn't hands on, we hardly ever see him!

Did you set the cover work?

Vicky5910 · 19/09/2014 22:01

I set the work for the first day and provided an overview of the classes and suggestions for what they could do to follow. I didn't think I had to send in work when signed off. I did ask, I got no reply all week. If there is a policy on it at my school I'm not aware and as I say, my line manager didn't answer me on it.

Not sure then. I would have to set lessons for my classes if I was off. Then I would know what they'd done.

I think you'll need to go in on Monday and see what's been happening, and then talk to the Ht about part time timetable. What's your subject?

Were lessons covered by a cover supervisor or was it an external supply teacher?
