BC and AD or BCE and CE?

Just that really. I was sure that we are now supposed to be using BCE etc, but the other teachers in my school all use BC and AD, which will lead to confusion. Any history subject leaders here who can give a definitive answer?

I can't give a definitive answer I'm afraid but I remember our RE teacher at school used to say BC or BCE if you prefer so she kind of made it our choice which was nice.

I use BC and AD in history lessons as accepted measure of time and thus history - but when teaching RS I am careful to explain the Christian connotations of BC/AD and so use BCE/BC instead. And I teach both as an example of positive and negative numbers. Hope that helps!

Archaeologists use the term BP, before present.
